McLean plays host to many food and drink festivals, but in more ways than one the Chocolate Festival is the sweetest. The ninth-annual festival, scheduled for Sunday, January 26, from 11 am to 5 pm in the McLean Community Center, will host some of the best chocolatiers and confectioners in the region. The McLean Rotary Club, which has managed the chocolate festival since its inception, aims to provide a family-friendly community event that highlights local businesses and raises money for local charities at the same time.
Two rooms of the community center will house vendor booths, selling chocolates and other treats, while another room is dedicated to live entertainment, with The Trillium Trio and the Sunshine Gang returning from last year’s festival. American Heritage, a Mars Company, will also host a workshop where you can learn how colonial Americans made chocolate. Admission is just $2 (free for children aged 3 and under).
