12 Stories is about as close as you can get to a bird’s-eye view of DC without boarding a plane. The newly opened restaurant resides on the top floor of The InterContinental Hotel (hence the name), and it promises panoramic views of the Potomac River and the city skyline through its 13-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows.
On a warm day, you can get one step closer to the view when you step out onto the terrace for a bite or drinks. Meet friends for happy hour after work and try a signature cocktail such as the Cherry Blossom, a mix of Aviation Gin, Barolo Chinato, lemon juice, and cherry and celery shrub. Complement your drink with a few appetizers or small plates, such as the cheese board with jam and honeycomb or the buttermilk-fried chicken sandwich with kohlrabi slaw, aioli, and lettuce.
