Surviving the long, cold DC winter is reason enough to celebrate with a special activity this spring. Gather up the kids and book a cruise on the Boomerang Pirate Ship. This custom-designed vessel sets sail from K Street NW down the Potomac, and is complete with themed interiors, a decked-out crew, and plenty of activities for the little ones.
The most popular thing to do is to blast the water cannons, but there is also face painting, temporary tattoos, and plenty of fun music to dance the day away. Choose from daytime treasure hunt cruises for a family-friendly adventure, or an adults-only sunset cruise complete with bar service. You can also charter the Boomerang Pirate Ship if you want to fill the boat with only your own lads and lasses. Despite its fun and festive appearance, the Boomerang Pirate Ship is meticulously updated and holds all the necessary equipment for a safe voyage. Tickets range from $20 to $30 for the adult tour, and are $20 for the family cruise. Availability is limited to weekends during the spring season, but weekday options are added during June.
